Buffalo Rest

In the West, there are buffalo 'farms' and ranches all over.  Near the area where I lived, in Colorado, there were two lone buffalo who lived in a meadow beside the Interstate.  They were there for years.  

One particular trip through the canyon, I noticed there was only one lone buffalo.  How sad I felt for that lonely creature... to be a herd animal -- so "family oriented" -- and to be all alone now.

This is my tribute to the lone buffalo, beside the road in Glenwood Canyon, and may they both have peaceful rest.

This watercolor pencil was done for a frog lover in 1997.  I rarely work in this medium, but it is a nice change from time to time.
